With Covid-19 still upon us, many will continue to work from home, so having a home office has become a necessity. With business meetings being conducted through video calls, having a space that looks presentable has also become important as of late.
To help you handle this project yourself, Minuca Elena reached out to 62 interior designers and ask them the following question:
How to decorate a home office on a budget?
Here is what our founder, Josie, had to say:
When planning a home office you must take into consideration the type of business you are running and were in your household it will be most effective to work. Some examples are the kitchen, garage, or perhaps a spare bedroom.
Then you have to ask yourself questions like “will clients be coming to the home?” or “is a space for one big enough to work from?”
You also want to take into account any possible distractions such as children or any unbearable noises. These are important factors to ask yourself to ensure your workspace will be functional and set a boundary between your work life and personal life.
There are so many ways to add some creativity to your space such as choosing unique office supplies and organizational furnishings that coordinate with your brand colours, this will tie the space together without breaking the bank.
Adding plants in your office is another way to enhance the space while improving the air quality. Lighting is very important and if you’re on video calls then it’s best to face a window to get the best natural light that won’t create shadows on your face. These simple ideas can bring your home office to life!
