Remodelling your bathroom is a great way to update the look of your home and increase its value. But if you’re on a budget, it can be hard to know where to start.
Try one of the following ideas!
Add a towel bar
You can add a towel bar in multiple places, but the best spots are on the shower door and wall. If you have an older home, it might be easier to hang your new towel bar on the wall rather than replace your old one. You can also hang one over each side of your tub or showerhead if you want easy access while bathing or shampooing. If you’re feeling creative, try adding one to the handle of your shower door or even hanging it from certain parts of your faucet handles!
Buy yourself a nice bathmat
Bathmats can make your bathroom look more luxurious, and some of them even have antibacterial properties. Bamboo bathmats, for example, are a great option for people with lower budgets because they’re inexpensive and also durable. In addition to making your bathroom more attractive, bathmats can be a great way to add colour: just pick out one that fits in with the rest of your décor!
Get a better toilet seat
If you’re on a budget and can’t afford to get a new toilet, don’t worry! You can always get a new seat cover. They are cheap, easy to find and install yourself, and give your bathroom an instant facelift.
There are many different kinds of toilet seat covers available online or at home improvement stores. Some also come with built-in air fresheners that spray every time someone sits down on the lid and there are even bidet attachments. If you want something fancier than your standard white plastic seat, consider getting one with chrome hinges for an extra touch of elegance in your bathroom!
Give your shower door a makeover
If you don’t want to spend money on a new door but would rather just update some parts, consider changing the handles and hinges on the old one instead of getting rid of it altogether. You can also add new hardware such as towel bars or shelves inside your existing frame without having to buy an entirely new enclosure system. Just be sure that whatever type of hardware you choose matches well enough with what’s already there so as not to stand out too much from its surroundings!
Paint the walls
The most obvious way to change the look of your bathroom is to paint the walls. You can update the colour scheme, cover stains or imperfections, or bring in a completely new look by painting any other part of your bathroom.
Paint also allows you to get creative with designs and patterns on the ceiling, trim around doors and windows, cabinets—even light fixtures!
Add a new mirror
Mirrors are especially useful if you want to make a small bathroom seem larger—a large mirror can make the room seem twice as big! If you don’t have much space in your bathroom, then this might be a good way to increase the space you have available.
If you’re going for a more traditional look, consider purchasing a framed mirror with an ornate border or elegant frame. This type of mirror will look great in almost any setting and will add elegance and sophistication to your bathroom.
In addition to mirrors, you can replace the shower head, add bathroom decorations or completely replace the tiles. There are many options, so it is best to visit the bathroom supply store and get the necessary advice and inspiration!
Put up some new art or photos
- The paint is cheap. Wall art, on the other hand, can be expensive.
- You can find cheap wall art at thrift stores or even make your own using old photos you have saved.
- Posters are also a great way to add colour to a room without spending much money at all!
If you have family photos or postcards you’d like to display in your bathroom, then they’re perfect for this purpose!
Replacing all of your light fixtures
Replacing all of your light fixtures can be as simple as buying new ones and swapping out the old ones. If you have fancy or unique taste, this is a great way to make an instant impact on the bathroom’s style. But if you don’t mind being more subtle about it and prefer something that matches the rest of your bathroom (or even just looks nice), then replacing it all at once may be what you need.
You could also consider adding more than one type of light fixture so that it gives some variety in appearance — maybe an industrial-style lamp next to a pendant over the sink? Or maybe some recessed lighting along one wall? The options are endless!
We hope this guide has helped you feel more inspired and confident about making some changes to your bathroom. There are lots of things you can do to make it look nicer, which don’t cost a lot of money! And remember: even if there’s only one thing on this list that interests you, do it!
