Say Hello to the Softer Side of 2016 – Meet Pantone’s Colours of the Year

December 17, 2015

As we say goodbye to 2015, we welcome the new year and anticipate the new seasons to come.

Say farewell to the rich, sophisticated colour of Marsala and embrace the softer side of 2016 with the new Pantone colours of the year – yes you heard right, colours, as in more than one.

For the first time Pantone announced two colours to influence trends from fashion, to art, graphic design and home décor in 2016: the pale pink Rose Quartz and the soft blue Serenity.

Rose Quartz

A persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.

Serenity

Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.

These two colours combined create a soothing sense of order + peace to balance our day-to-day stresses. Check out this inspiring video:

Appealing in all finishes, matte, metallic and glossy, the pairing works well with other mid-tones including greens and purples, rich browns, and all shades of yellow and pink.

Here are a few room ideas to inspire you in 2016:
